Common Ayurvedic Remedies for Gum Disease
- Neem is an effective way to help keep healthy gums. Put neem leaves in boiling water and boil off ¾ of the water. This makes a great mouthwash you can gargle with. Kill bacteria and leave a fresh clean mouth.
- A very famous Ayurvedic process of curing Gingivitis is oil pulling with sesame oil. In order to do that, simply pour a tablespoon of sesame oil inside your mouth and gradually pull the oil left and right, front and back and gargle properly and then start a chewing motion and then spit the oil out. Do this for almost 15 to 20 minutes repeatedly.
- Triphala tea is known to have antiplaque agents like 0.2% chlorhexidine. It is considerably helpful in decreasing plaque build-up and gingival swelling. Triphala tea can be used as mouthwash. To prepare this, boil 100 grams of powdered Triphala in 4 cups of water and then reduce to half. Use this as mouthwash twice daily.
