Coconut-Ginger Tea (Chai)


Chai is a Hindi word for tea, and tea can be made in various ways. This recipe of chai is more of masala milk enhanced with various soothing spices and is a perfect warm afternoon delight.

Good for Vata and Pitta.
For Pitta, add half ginger and allow to cool before drinking.

Serves: 2 person


  • 2 cups Homemade coconut milk
  • A pinch each of cinnamon, cardamom, clove powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 no. Star anise
  • ½ cup water (optional)


  1. Add coconut milk in a saucepan along with spice blend, ginger, and star anise and bring it to a gentle boil.
  2. You can add some water and bring it to boil for thinnner consistency.
  3. Strain the milk and serve.
