Ghavan (Cream of wheat Pancakes)

This pancake recipe is completely vegetarian and full of complex carbohydrates. It is filling, digestive and nourishing. It can aid in weight loss if taken in moderate quantities. You can add your own variation of vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green gram flour (moong dal flour)
  • 2 cups semolina (cream of wheat)
  • Buttermilk to make the batter in flowy consistency
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables of your choice (carrots, peas, french beans, onion etc)
  • 1 tsp of chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp of grated ginger
  • ½ tsp of finely chopped green chilli
  • ½ tsp chopped cilantro
  • Clarified butter (Ghee) or regular butter for greasing the pan
  • Salt to taste (preferably Himalayan Salt)

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients together (except ghee) and make the batter in to a pouring consistency.
  2. Let the batter sit for 20 to 25 mins
  3. Heat the pan and brush it with ghee
  4. Pour the batter spread it in circular fashion. Adjust the thickness to your liking
  5. Let it cook. Flip and cook on both sides
  6. Serve instantly.

Serving suggestions

Serve hot with chutney or butter.

What is White Frangipani?

White Frangipani is known for its district physical features. It can be easily spotted as a white flower with a dab of yellow near the middle of the flower. It is intensely fragrant, tubular, and waxy. Its main medical property is that it acts as a latex which is often corrosive and drastic. Latex is frequently applied to scabies, herpes, and ulcers. The seed is hemostatic, which means it stops hemorrhage. Moreover, its bark is bruised and applied as a plaster over hard tumors. Some find White Frangipani to be cardiotonic, diuretic, hypotensive and purgative.

What is Kaner?

Kaner is a blossom that is grows in tropical and subtropical areas of China and India. The flowers, mostly white, pink, and yellow and 1-2 inches in diameter, and have a sweet scent. The fruit is long, narrow capsule-shaped, and generally sized between 2-9 inches. It can be up to 3 meters tall and it has dark green slim leaves, which are known to grow in curls.
Kaner has shown antifungal activity against ringworm fungus and Microsporum nanum. The leaves also have a salutary effect on heart failure.
